Psych Advice for the Pediatric Primary Care Provider aims to increase to children’s access to mental health care
by increasing primary care providers’ knowledge and comfort in managing behavioral health concerns.
This series will increase children’s access to mental health care by increasing primary care providers’ knowledge
and comfort in managing behavioral health concerns. Pediatricians and their medical team will learn ways to
assess and make simple diagnoses for common behavior/mental health concerns in children and adolescents.
Tools learned in this educational series will lessen referrals to mental health practitioners for simple behavioral
concerns and decrease the frequency of Emergency Department referrals.
Who should attend: Pediatricians, family practice physicians, pediatric specialists, pediatric nurses, nurse
practitioners and physician assistants who wish to update their knowledge on mental health and behavioral
health in pediatric care.
